KAMPALA INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY (KIU) Centre for Continuous Professional Development and Extra-Mural Studies has put up a team of renown Professors and Senior Lecturers to offer high quality training at the main campus in Kansanga in the following short courses:

  • Certificate in Legislative Law.
  • Certificate in Human Resource Management.

Target Group
Under graduates, Graduates and post graduates, all those working with the public and the private sectors, Politicians e.g. Chairpersons LCV, and Executives, District, City and Municipal Counselors, NGO managers and technical staff, the business community,Teachers,Sub-county and Parish Chiefs etc.


Minimum Entry Requirements
The Minimum Entry Requirement is A-Level but those with Diplomas, Degrees and Post Graduate qualifications stand more chances of admission.


Course Duration

Those studying on weekends (Saturday: 9:00am -12:00pm, 2:00pm -5:00pm and Sunday 2:00pm -5:00pm) will take two months per course starting on 26th January 2013 and those who will be studying in the evenings(Monday-Friday; 5:30pm-8:30pm) will take one month starting 28th January 2013.

Submission of completed forms

Tuition

The tuition will be Ugshs 350,000 paid in two installments of Ugshs 250,000 1st installment and Ugshs100,000 2nd installment with in the course duration. All payments should be paid to the Kampala International University (KIU) account in any of the branches of UBA Bank Kampala.

Kampala International University (KIU) Centre for Continuous Professional Development and Extra-mural studies is also offering High Quality Executive Training in the following non-credit programmes:
1. Certificate in Corporate Governance.

2. Certificate in Corporate Strategy

3. Certificate in Business Competitive Intelligence.

4. Certificate in Legislative Drafting.


These corporate Executive Training Courses will be offered only on Saturdays 9:00am -5:00pm starting on 26th January 2013. Tuition fee will be Ugshs1, 000,000 per course with an application fee of shs20, 000. The executive training targets: Members of parliament corporate managers and top technical staff both in private and public sectors, Diplomats, cabinet ministers, university lecturers etc.
All the above courses can be offered on request by KAMPALA INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY (KIU) CENTRE FOR CONTINUOUS PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND EXTRA-MURAL STUDIES to your corporate organization, NGO, Government Departments etc under special arrangements. The courses can also be offered outside the country e.g. Southern Sudan-Juba, Burundi-Bujumbura, Rwanda-Kigali, Kenya-Nairobi ,Tanzania-Dar-es-Salaam

Note the following:
  • Students must register centrally with the Academic Affairs office.
  • Students must register with their departments.
  • To be eligible for semester examination one MUST have completed the continuous assessment tests and has attended all lecturers as stipulated by the common University regulations (NOT LESS THAN 75% lecture attendance)
  • Students are encouraged to clear their tuition fees in time to avoid penalties
  • No student will be allowed to sit semester exams without paying all tuition fees.
  • Students wishing to register for dead semester should do so within 45 days from the beginning of the semester or else attract a charge of 25%.
