Course Description

This course provides an exposition to students major themes and concepts in in political science; the academic discipline that seeks to study and to understand the phenomenon of politics. The course will deal with issues about the state; governments, forms of government; power and influence; constitutions and constitutionalism etc. 

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES

At the end of the course the student should be able to;

  •  Have knowledge of, and familiarity with, major topics and themes that have been or are at the core of political discourses and debates.
  • Appreciate knowledge of, and familiarity with, the roles of some of the major actors and processes in politics.
  • Acquire intellectual capacity or ability to apply them toward the understanding and analysis of the concrete political contexts in which students live or will have to live.
