ACADEMIC CALENDAR FOR THE COMPLETION OF 2020/2021 ACADEMIC YEAR

1. A student will belong to either Category A or Category B for undergraduate programs and Category C for postgraduate programs as will be detailed in the subsequent sections of this circular.
2. All undergraduate students who are due to complete Semester 1, 2020/2021 Academic Year (BMS 153, 161/162, 183 Series; BCM 2.2, 3.1, 3.2 and all students who joined in April 2021 Intake), will follow Category A Academic Schedule.
3. All other undergraduate students not listed in 2 (above) and who had completed Semester I, 2020/2021 Academic Year will follow Category B Academic Schedule.
4. All studies will be conducted via online until government directives allow students to return physically to the University campus.
5. Students who are unable to study online, for one reason or another, are required to contact and inform their School/Faculty either directly or through their class coordinators. Special arrangements will be made for such students, once face-to-face presence on campus is allowed by government directives.
6. All students who are able to study online, are required to register with their respective Faculties and Schools within two weeks from the date of commencement of their academic sessions.
7. Information on what is needed for registration should be obtained from the respective School/Faculty, while guidelines on clearance of student financial obligations can be obtained from the Directorate of Finance.
8. All students registered for studies are required to ensure full attendance of online classes from the first day as specified in the calendar of their respective categories. Individual timetables for each class will be made available by the Faculty/School.
9. Practicals, internships, and clinical sessions will be conducted and assessed when the government directives on COVID-19 allow students to return to campus or teaching or training sites. In this case, a detailed schedule will be shared.
10. Students that require to undertake national examinations e.g. BTVET/UNMEB, should liaise with their respective Faculty or School Dean's for further guidance.

CATEGORY A: SCHEDULE FOR STUDENTS WHO HAD NOT COMPLETED SEMESTER I OF THE 2020/2021 ACADEMIC YEAR BY THE TIME OF THE LOCKDOWN ON JUNE 06, 2021

CATEGORY B: SCHEDULE FOR STUDENTS WHO HAD COMPLETED SEMESTER I OF THE 2021/2021 ACADEMIC YEAR BY THE TIME OF LOCKDOWN ON JUNE 06, 2021

CATEGORY C: SCHEDULE FOR POSTGRADUATE STUDENTS
