KIU, Western campus - President Yoweri Museveni’s address to the nation about the government’s planned actions on the ongoing pandemic and lockdown imposed to stem its spread, which was earlier scheduled for today Monday, May 18, has been postponed to tomorrow, Tuesday, May 19.

The announcement was made by the President’s Senior Press Secretary Don Wanyama, in a brief statement on Twitter.

“The 14th Presidential address by His Excellency @KagutaMusevenion COVID-19 which was slated for today has been moved to tomorrow, Tuesday 19th, at 8 pm,” the statement read.

The presidential address is eagerly anticipated, with much debate surrounding the form of additional measures aimed at lifting some of the restrictions announced earlier by President Museveni, with some people expecting some aspects of public life to resume while others are expecting the lockdown to be extended for an additional period.
