KIU, Main Campus - Yesterday the Ministry of Health announced 12 new cases of the novel Coronavirus in Uganda bringing the total number of cases to 260.

"Results from samples tested on 18 May 2020 confirmed 12 new COVID-19 cases confirmed from 1,743 samples of truck drivers. All new cases are Ugandans. Total confirmed COVID-19 cases are 260." tweeted Dr Jane Ruth Aceng, the minister of Health.

In a new twist of events, 32 foreign truck drivers tested positive and were turned back to their respective countries. This is after a new consensus was reached amongst the East African countries that will see foreigners that are found with the virus at the border points sent back to their respective countries.
