COVID-19 Updates: Uganda Registers 2 New Deaths and 65 New Cases on September 3

Uganda has registered 2 new COVID-19 deaths and 65 new cases from the 4,540 samples tested on September 3, bringing the cumulative number of COVID-19 cases in the country to 3,353, according to the Ministry of Health daily COVID-19 update.

The 2 deaths are Ugandan females both residents of Kampala aged 57 and 69, bringing the total number of COVID-19 deaths in the country to 35.

Of the 65 new cases, 60 were alerts and contacts from previously confirmed cases, with 44 of these coming from Kampala – which is just over 73% of the total alerts and contacts.

The rest are Gulu with 6, Buikwe with 3, Mukono with 2 while Busia, Luweero, Nakapiripirit, Nwoya and Wakiso districts registered one positive case.

3 were truck drivers while 2 health workers from Wakiso and Nwoya districts also tested positive for Coronavirus.

The number of recoveries stands at 1,564 meaning that Uganda currently has 1,574 active cases of COVID-19.
