KIU, Main Campus - Ugandan scientists have delivered good news to the nation regarding the discovery and development of seven drugs in an attempt to stamp out Coronavirus.

During the Sunday night televised presidential address, President Museveni revealed that Uganda is slowly gaining ground in the war against COVID-19.

"Out of the seven drugs, six are under trial while one is an immune booster that is currently being used," he said.

Therefore starting 15th December, 2020, patients under strict medical supervision will have the medicine tried on them.

"The scientists have also developed two diagnostic tests of which one uses saliva and can give results in 30 minutes," added the President.

With the above new discoveries, Ugandans still continue to observe the guidelines set by Ministry of Health in a bid to fight the virus.
