KlU, Main Campus – KIU Law Society has acknowledged and congratulated Martin Gidongo on his exceptional performance in the Law Development Center (LDC) bar course exams for the academic year 2019/2020.

KIU Law student Gidongo was the best in Diploma in Legal Practice, according to results released by LDC’s Director Frank Nigel Othembi on June 2.

And in a June 4 statement signed by its president Raymond Alijuna, KIU Law Society has commended Gidongo’s and other law students’ good performance in the exams, which saw a high number of students fail the exams.

"The KIU Law Society cabinet wishes to take this glamorous opportunity to recognise and congratulate its very own Alumni who again explored the heights by performing exceedingly well and raising the KIU Law faculty flag and institution at large Nationally and internationally." the statement partly reads.

“On that accord, we, therefore, congratulate you all our alumnus upon the success and above all congratulate counsel Gidongo Martin for the outstanding results as the best LDC student in Uganda,” it adds.

The LDC bar course results, which were approved by LDC’s Management Committee, saw a high failure rate of more than 90% at both the Mbarara and Kampala campuses, and Gidongo’s achievement can’t be understated.

"Despite the unpleasant performance at LDC in the just concluded exams, our alumni showed that we are of distinct class and that KIU produces creme de la crème than no other," the Law Society statement pointed out.

Law Development Centre offers a contemporary Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice (Bar Course) that offers Law students knowledge and practical skills and is a requirement by many law entities before a Law graduate can begin practicing.

Gidongo and his colleagues and colleagues are expected to graduate virtually from LDC this weekend on Saturday, June 12th, 2021.
