KIU, Western Campus – Sandra Balunga, a Bachelor’s of Pharmacy Student at KIU, Western Campus and the Uganda Pharmaceutical Students Association (UPSA) Public Relations Officer will represent Uganda at the International Pharmaceutical Students Federation (IPSF) conference to be held in Bamako, Mali from July 10 to 20.

Balunga, who was elected the IPSF contact person in Uganda in February 2021, says she has already cleared all conference fees and is still looking for money for the air ticket, which she says costs 4.7 million shillings.

“I have paid all the conference fees but am still figuring out the ticket,” Balunga said in a WhatsApp chat with this writer.

According to ipsf.org, IPSF is the leading international advocacy organization for pharmacy and pharmaceutical science students and recent graduates, promoting improved public health through the provision of information, education, networking and a range of publications and professional initiatives.

It represents more than 500,000 pharmacy and pharmaceutical science students and recent graduates from over 100 countries worldwide. IPSF was founded in 1949, making it the oldest faculty-based student organization in the world.
