Kampala International University (KIU), on 1st December 2021, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with East Africa University (EAU), Puntland Somalia.
The MoU was signed on behalf of KIU by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mouhamad Mpezamihigo, and witnessed by Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic Affairs Dr. Sophia Kazibwe in the presence of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Research, Innovation, Consultancy and Extension (RICE), Assoc. Prof Chukwuemeka Diji.
The MoU aims to promote the development of scientific, technical, and cultural relations and academic cooperation, particularly in postgraduate studies, research and internship, and staff exchange. Exchanges will be from any applicable branch of learning and research.
In his remarks, the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Mouhamad Mpezamihigo said that KIU is advanced in several areas and disciplines and therefore ready to pull a hand of any upcoming University.
“We are delighted to host the Vice-Chancellor East Africa University in Puntland Somalia Prof. Abdisalam ISSA - SALWE, the world in which we are required to collaborate but not compete and this is one of the landmarks,” Prof. Mouhamad Mpezamihigo.
“Out of this agreement, we should be able to produce many more collaborations, partnerships, and joint research projects,’’ Prof. Mpezamihigo stated.
The Vice-Chancellor East Africa University (EAU) Prof. Abdisalam Issa said that KIU will help them build and strengthen their capacity (EAU) particularly in the area of Postgraduate.
“I was very happy and excited when I visited KIU Western campus because of the fully equipped laboratories which would help our students learn practically,” Prof. Abdisalam Issa Vice-Chancellor EAU.
