KIU Holds Orientation for August Intake Postgraduate Students

KIU, Western Campus – Theophilus Pius, the Head Of Department (HOD) Laboratories at KIU Teaching Hospital says he wants to be a renowned Professor in Public Health.
Pius is also an alumnus of KIU with a Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Sciences and a Master of Public Health.
“As an upcoming academician, my major expectation is to become a Professor and I can only achieve that by bagging a PhD. Currently, I have the admission to pursue a PhD in Public Health at KIU,” Pius says.
His work as a medical laboratory scientist involves health research and guiding students in their academic research.
“I have supervised many undergraduate students across different health disciplines including Bachelor of Pharmacy, Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery, Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science, Bachelor of Clinical Medicine and Diploma students,” he revealed
Pius says he is very proud of the KIU community especially the students, who have always strived for the best both on campus and after they have graduated.
“The KIU students’ community is excellent out there and within the institution. I am an example and many others serving in different capacities in the University,” he noted
According to him, he will always hold fond memories of KIU, especially those times he has been recognized for his hard work and dedication to the university.
“I have some memorable moments like when I received recognition by KIU for outstanding performance in 2017, 2018, and 2019 in the Departments of Medical Laboratory Science, Pathology, Diagnostics, and the School of Allied Health Sciences,” he shared.
Pius, who says he loves KIU so much, advises fellow staff to love this institution because is the only way they can give their best and also do their work with all honesty and sincerity.
