KIU, MAIN CAMPUS: Niyonkuru Steven, a Bachelor of Information Technology graduand from Kampala International University (KIU), is eagerly preparing for KIU's 30th graduation ceremony set for November 23rd, 2024. Driven by a strong ambition to contribute to society through innovative ideas and leadership skills honed at KIU, Steven has left a lasting impact on campus through various roles, making his graduation a well-deserved milestone in an already remarkable journey.

During his time at KIU, Steven served as the Guild Leader of Opposition (2023-2024), MP for the School of Mathematics and Computing (SOMAC) (2023-2024), Chief Coordinator for SOMAC (2022-2024), President of the KIU Seventh-day Student’s Association, and as class coordinator since 2021. These leadership roles have continuously shaped him into the person he is today.

He was awarded the NDC Award in the University Category (2022-2023) and recognized as one of the best innovators and presenters in the Huawei Competitions Innovation Track (2023-2024) at the continental level in South Africa.

“To the continuing students: as you progress in your academic journey, remember that each step you take brings you closer to your goals. Whether you're just starting or approaching the finish line, every class, every assignment, and every challenge is an opportunity for growth,” Steven advises.

In closing, Steven encourages fellow graduands to always dream big, take risks, and never settle for mediocrity.

“The road ahead may be uncertain, but it is also filled with endless possibilities. Trust in your abilities, and remember that failure is not the end but a stepping stone to success. Let’s support each other as we embark on our individual journeys, stay connected, continue to share our stories, and celebrate each other’s achievements. Together, we can overcome any obstacle and achieve greatness,” he emphasizes.
