KIU, Western Campus – The KIU Muslim Students Association (KIUMSA) has been invited by the Makerere University Muslim Students Association (MUMSA) for the Sisters’ Symposium, an event organized in recognition of the diverse status the Muslim ladies hold in society.

The symposium, which will take place on Saturday March 25, will be held under the theme, “Exploring Islam on Feminism in Today’s Society.”

The invitation was communicated through a March 13 letter signed by Janat Nakedde, the MUMSA Chairlady and Dr. Muhammad Kiggundu Musoke, the Patron MUMSA.

“The purpose of this letter is to officially invite 10 female participants from your institution to join us in this memorable get-together,” reads the letter.

“Your presence will not only be highly treasured but also be a bridge of collaboration as Muslim ladies,” it adds.

According to the letter, the Sisters’ taskforce is a committee under MUMSA that focuses on uplifting the values and knowledge of Muslims as well as well as addressing sisters’ issues and concerns.
