The Ministry of Health is to partner with Kampala International University for a Reproductive Health Collaboration, the first of its kind with an institution of higher learning in Uganda.

In a meeting with the Dr. Richard Mugahi, Assistant Commissioner for the Ministry of Health, the Vice Chancellor Dr. Mouhamad Mpezamihigo, and other officials, it was discussed that the main objective of these set activities is to promote health, and to explore more effective ways of communicating with young people whilst sensitizing them about their health and lifestyle.

Statistics reveal that over 25% of the women in Uganda under the age of 18 fall victim to early pregnancy, 20% fall prey to maternal mortality, and 13% of the youth are abusing drugs.

It is for this reason that the Ministry of Health will conduct a training for health workers and students at Kampala International University Main Campus grounds.

Stay tuned for more updates.
