KIU Main Campus- The newly elected Principal Coordinator for the KIU Forum for Ideas (FFI), Zubair Kanyereketo says he wants to turn the platform into one that favours a generation of innovative but diverse ideas.

The second-year student of Law replaced Sharif Ntume at the helm of KIU's leading Student think tank. He said he felt honoured to be the principal Coordinator for Forum for Ideas.

"It feels wonderful; I am so honored to have the opportunity to be the Principal Coordinator for the Forum for Ideas."

"It is such an exciting role where I can bring people together and facilitate discussions on important topics. I am looking forward to fostering a space where innovative ideas can thrive and make a positive impact."

He said his main goal is to make Forum For Ideas greater by fostering an environment where diverse perspectives can come together and thrive.

"I intend to organize thought-provoking events, invite influential speakers, and encourage engaging discussions on a wide range of topics."

" I also plan to explore innovative ways such as using the media to connect with a larger audience and create opportunities for collaboration and knowledge-sharing."

"Ultimately, I aim to make the Forum for Ideas great again, to make it a platform that inspires and empowers individuals to contribute their unique perspectives and drive positive change."

Kanye acknowledged the fact that the immediate past leadership tremendously played their part in improving the forum and that a lot still needs to be done for Forum For Ideas to match its initial vision.

"I am considering introducing new and engaging formats for the forum, such as panel discussions, inviting guest speakers and also actively engaging the alumni. This will help attract more participants and create a dynamic atmosphere."

He also plans to reach out to other student associations and clubs that align with the forum's mission such as the debate club, the law society, the clinical legal education department as well as the Rotaract club of KIU for partnership.

"By partnering with them, I will tap into their networks and expand the reach of the forum," he said.

Like the past regime, Kanyereketo said he will also utilize social media platforms to promote the forum's activities and engage with a wider audience.

Much as it remains the most consistent students' Association at KIU, the Forum For Ideas is still struggling to attract as many students from different departments and colleges as they do in the school of law.
