CBOT Hajji Hassan Basajjabalaba donates to Bushenyi District COVID-19 TaskForce

KIU, Western campus – The Chairman Board of Trustees (CBOT) for Kampala International University, Hajji Hassan Basajjabalaba has donated a number of relief items to the Bushenyi District COVID-19 taskforce.

He donated items including 28 fully fuelled saloon cars to serve as community ambulances, 700 kilograms of rice, 100 kilograms of sugar, 80 litres of cooking oil and together with Hon Raphael Magyezi, Hon. Mary Karooro Okurut and Hon. Michael Mawanda, Members of parliament from Bushenyi district, he also donated 29.5 tonnes of maize flour.

The assistant town clerk for Bushenyi district Didas Muhanguzi said that the balance of the maize flour, which was initially a pledge, had been delivered in full, and the items would be delivered to the respective beneficiaries this week.

The Resident District Commissioner (RDC) for Bushenyi District, Jolly Tibemanya thanked Hajji Basajjabalaba for his generosity.

“We appreciate very much the donations like maize flour, rice and cooking oil for Muslim prisoners, etc (other persons). May God continue to bless him,” Tibemanya said.

This is not the first time the Chairman BOT is coming out to donate to the COVID-19 cause. Earlier in April, he donated 100 million shillings to the national taskforce for COVID-19.
