KIU Receives COMS-A Full Membership Recognition

KIU, Main Campus - Uganda, through the Ministry of Health, has requested 9 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine amid rising new cases in the country.
A statement issued by the ministry said that the vaccines will cover 20 percent of the countrycâ¬âcs total population.
câ¬ÅPlans are underway to secure additional doses of the vaccine to cover more people,c⬠the statement adds.
On Tuesday, the Ministry of Health, through GAVI (Global Alliances for Vaccines and Immunization), applied to secure the COVID-19 vaccine from drugmaker AstraZeneca.
The ministry further warned that the COVID-19 crisis in the country is getting worse, encouraging the public to follow the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Uganda on Thursday registered 671 new COVID-19 cases bringing the cumulative confirmed cases to 25,730. 1 new COVID-19 death was also registered.
As it is, Uganda has registered a total of 9,605 recoveries and 220 deaths since the index case was reported on March 21.
