KIU, Main Campus – Last night Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng, the Minister of Health took to her Twitter account to announce that Uganda had yet again confirmed 11 new cases of COVID-19.

The confirmed cases are all externally bound as six were Tanzanian truck drivers who arrived into the country via Mutukula Border, five were Kenyan truck drivers, three of whom arrived via Malaba and two arrived via Busia making a total of 11. This means that the total confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Uganda now stands at 74.

All this comes in as Uganda had already discharged 46 of its COVID-19 patients. This means that active cases now stand at 28.

The KIU community is advised to be vigilant, especially those that stay near said border points. Also, continue washing hands with soap, avoid handshakes and hugs, and most especially, stay home and stay safe.
