Deceased KIU Guild President Matovu to be Laid to Rest Today

KIU, Western Campus – Douglas Matovu, the deceased KIU Western Campus Guild President, is to be laid to rest today at 2pm.

According to a Daily Monitor report, Matovu died in 2am Sunday car crash that happened at Zzinda-Bulwada Village, Gomba District on Mpigi –Kanoni –Sembabule Road. 

A team from KIU Western Campus comprising of the Assistant Deputy Vice Chancellor for Academics and Research, Prof. Mikail Umar, the Dean Students Affairs Florah Bamutura and the KIU Teaching Hospital Chief Executive Officer Dr. Umi Bunu, plus a group of students from the university.

Matovu was a third-year Bachelor of Pharmacy student and was voted as Guild President on April 24 and sworn in on April 19 in a colourful ceremony held at the campus’ Basketball Court.
