KIU Business Desk: UBA Uganda Receives new CEO

KIU, Main Campus - Last week, United Bank for Africa, Uganda Limited (UBA), announced the appointment of Chioma Mang as its new Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer.

Before her appointment in Uganda, Chioma was the Managing Director/CEO of UBA Gabon.

Chioma is a graduate of Law (LLB) from the University of Reading, England. She also holds a Master’s Degree in Commercial and Corporate Law (LL.M) from the University College London (UCL).

While speaking about the appointment, Oliver Alawuba, the CEO, UBA Africa said, “Chioma brings unique strong skills and is ideally positioned to lead UBA Uganda to its next phase of growth. Her most recent experience of managing UBA Gabon, where she significantly grew the profitability of the subsidiary to an enviable position and established the bank as the best Digital Bank in Gabon is particularly relevant to the expected transformation of UBA operations in Uganda as she executes UBA’s innovative digital play.”

Besides, UBA Uganda Limited is a subsidiary of United Bank for Africa Plc, which has 1,000 business offices and customer touchpoints in 20 African countries.
