KIU Calls for Applications for Short Course on Global Nutrition & Mental Health

KIU, Main Campus - Kampala International University (KIU), through the Directorate of Research, Innovation, Consultancy and Extension (DRICE), has opened applications for a specialized short course titled Global Nutrition & Mental Health (Integrated Approach). The programme will run from 11th to 15th May 2026 at the KIU Main Campus in Kampala.

The course is designed to equip participants with practical, evidence‑based skills that connect nutrition to mental well‑being - an emerging priority area in global health. Participants will gain tools for designing real‑world interventions, strategies for reducing stigma, and hands‑on experience through case studies and group work.

According to DRICE, the course targets a wide range of professionals and learners, including nutritionists, clinical psychologists, public health officers, medical and nursing interns, teachers, NGO practitioners, counsellors, social workers, and postgraduate students.

The programme will be led by the DVC Research, Innovations, Consultancy and Extensions (RICE) Prof. Regina Ejemot‑Nwadiaro, an experienced scholar and practitioner in public health and nutrition.

Participants who complete the course will earn a KIU Certificate in Integrated Nutrition & Mental Health.

The course fee is UGX 250,000, with a 50% early‑bird waiver available for the first 10 postgraduate students to register.

Interested applicants can register with the link https://bit.ly/kiushortcourse or by scanning the QR code on the course poster.

This initiative reflects KIU’s commitment to advancing knowledge, driving innovation, and empowering communities through practical, high‑impact training programmes.
