KIU, Western Campus - KIU Crows continued their dominant start to the Western Men’s Regional XVs Rugby League with a commanding 54-7 victory over Fort Portal Tyrants on Saturday, extending their unbeaten run to three matches. The Crows delivered a complete team performance, highlighted by a standout display from No. 8 Mark Ssengooba, who earned man-of-the-match honors after powering over for three tries.

Center Jonathan Cyirabo also impressed, crossing the whitewash three times to take his season tally to six tries in just three games. Benjamin Mukisa and Jesse Okiror each added a try to cap off a clinical attacking performance.

Fullback and vice-captain Joshua Ajuka was reliable from the tee, converting seven of eight attempts to maintain his excellent kicking form this season.

KIU made several adjustments to the matchday squad, with Jesse Okiror, Claver Ssemambo and Benjamin Ssemalwadde earning starts in the backline and loose forward positions.

The Crows team was further strengthened by the fitness of key players, including Aaron Zziwa, Levis Akampa, Humphrey Gimui Zanga, Alvin Nizeyimana, Ivan Munguleni, Marvin Mabike and Maxwell Wepukhulu.

Captain Clement Ogwal led from the front in midfield, while Marvin Agaba and Ronnie Okol added structure and pace in the half-back and wing positions, respectively. Daniel Mayanja also featured in the back three, contributing to the team’s attacking width.

Off the bench, KIU maintained intensity, with impactful contributions from Jeff Ssengooba, Fred Sserunkuma, Clinton Mukora, Jacob Owomugasho and Eugene Kakuru.
