KIU Main Campus - According to the Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko, Russia is planning to carry out a mass vaccination campaign against Coronavirus in October this year.

The vaccination will be free of charge, and the minister added that, “we plan wider vaccination for October because we need to launch a new system of treatment gradually.”

Clinical trials of a Coronavirus vaccine developed by the Gamaleya Scientific Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology were concluded according to Murashko.

During late July, the Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin intimated that they were hopeful that Russia is to produce a reliable vaccine against the Coronavirus by fall.

As of last weekend, Russia had already registered over 845,000 COVID-19 cases.
