KIU, Main Campus - Bosco Praise Tumuramye was on Sunday, May 16th along with the rest of his executive team sworn in as President of the KIU NRM Chapter for the year 2021-2022.

Upon taking Oath, Tumuramye pledged to make the KIU NRM Chapter the best among all other chapters in different universities in Uganda. He said that it is his first priority to make the chapter stronger than ever.

"We are going to make the KIU NRM Chapter the best in Uganda and for that, we have already started. Notably is during the presidential swearing-in ceremony and we were the only Chapter that came out first to congratulate him," Tumramye said.

He added that his team has already designed a work plan that will help the chapter to integrate with other chapters, organizations, student think tanks, and the NRM Secretariat.

"We also intend to have friendly sports matches with different universities and organizations in order to create friendship, harmony and also popularize our name," he added.

Tumuramye called upon the NRM Secretariat to start supporting the chapter actively unlike before. He pledged to deliver the 10th consecutive Guild President from his Chapter in order to maintain the chapter's unbeaten track record.

Tumuramye replaced Timothy Namanya whose term stretched to a record two years due to uncertainties caused by the outbreak of COVID-19.

Sunday's swearing-in ceremony was presided over by the youth MP-elect for Northern Uganda Hon James Okot who also serves as the KIU NRM Chapter Patron.

Other important guests at the ceremony included Solomon Oketcho, the newly elected Mayor for Tororo municipality, former KIU Guild Union Vice-President, Mary Kabaikiriza among others.
