KIU, Main Campus.KIU Rangers needed only two points to work out a narrow escape from the tallons of a much-determined relegation-threatened Magic Stormers on Wednesday evening.
From the word go, the Magic Stormers showed that they really wanted to win yesterday's game, giving all their best but the Rangers too could not afford to lose.
The Stormers led 36:32 at half-time prompting the Rangers to prove their championship credentials to escape with a narrow 65-63 victory.
Perus Nyamwege posted the game's highest 24 points while Sharon Kirabo(9) and Clarisse Ntumba(8 ) were margins away from double figures but their points were key in the Rangers' hard-fought triumph.
KIU Rangers remain third on the NBL women's ladder with 30 points out of 17 points and are equal to second-placed UCU Lady Canons who have played the same number of games but are six points below invisible JKL lady Dolphins who have finished the regular season unbeaten.
With one game to go, the Rangers will surely finish the regular season on a high and will hope for the very best in the playoffs.
