The National Basketball league resumes this weekend as the KIU Titans prepare to ambush the UPDF Tomahawks, while the Rangers face champions and early pace-setters JKL Dolphins.

Fresh from a rejuvenating 85-78 win over the UCU Canons last weekend, the Titans will be seeking to build more momentum with a win against a stubborn Tomahawks side as they aim to steady their ship for another title challenge.

Without a doubt one of the favourites for the title, Titans will bank on the sensational Faisal Aden (in the picture) to lead the team again.

Aden was unstoppable as he scored a game-high 27 points against the Canons being aided by Michael Bwanga’s 14 to make a late rally and snatch victory in the last quarter.

Coach Brian Wathum will also expect new signing Ariel Okall to rise up to the occasion after a paltry return of 11 points in his first two games, a disappointing statistic for the highly-rated Kenyan international.

In the ladies’ game, the KIU Rangers entertain a fledgling JKL Dolphins side, who are once again the favourites to land this season’s title, despite the Rangers leading the league table prior to last week’s 46-62 loss to KCCA Leopards.

The defending champions will however face a huge stumbling block in a Rangers side that have shown serious intent of grabbing the title from their bitter rivals.
