KIU, Main, Campus-KIU Titans fought from behind to complete a double against Rezlife Saints on Wednesday evening 5th July 2023, with an 84-65 victory.

The Titans' victory was greatly inspired by Denis Balungu who registered the game's highest 30 points before Winning the player of the game award. The Titans have now won all the four games they have played in the second round of this NBL season so far.

A strong reaction after going down 18-23 in the first quarter helped the Titans to find their footing with Balungu taking center stage in the magnificent redemption that also featured some spectacular passing of the ball and fascinating shots that were graced by a series of standing ovation from the fans.

He scored eight threes from eleven attempts which saw him undisputably named player of the game in recognition of his excellent performance. However, the Titans also exhibited a great deal of teamwork and it was this concerted effort from every Titan on court that hugely determined the game in their favour.

They led the second quarter 19-09 before taking the advantage to five points (37-32) going into the halftime break. They also claimed the third quarter 25-16 as well as the fourth 22-13 so before easing to victory.

KIU Titans' leading scorer, Saidi Amisi Danny left the court prematurely after a knock on his knee though he had already posted 16 points while Henry Okoth also scored in double figures,10 points to extend his great start to the second round of this NBL season.

Vice-captain, Stanley Mugerwa was outstanding when it came to rebounding, registering eight rebounds and was followed by Edgar Munaba who posted seven rebounds.

Innocent Ochera led the assists list with eight assists in addition to his tally of eight points and four rebounds. He was followed by Saidi Amisi with five and Edgar Munaba with three assists.

KIU Titans have now won 13 out of the 15 games played this season and are now second on the NBL men's table above Namuwongo Blazers in third place and below the unbeaten City Oilers though all the three teams have 28 points. However, Namuwongo Blazers has played a game more than the Titans and two more than the leaders, City Oilers.
