KIU, Main Campus - On 4th March 2020, The KIU basketball team, the Titans, were beaten by KCCA Panthers 73-70 in a friendly match they hosted at their home ground in Kansanga.

This was the Titans' first friendly match as they prepare for the 2020 season which kicks off in a few months’ time. Despite losing at home, Coach Brian Wathum is hopeful his boys can do better than last season and that the fans should not lose hope.

‘’Losing at home is not that big a reason to scare our fans but the way we play should. But not this time round since the boys are doing well," Brain said.

He added that their performance against the KCCA Panthers was a bit low compared to what was expected, but nonetheless praised star man Mpiima Rajab who kept the team moving even when the visitors proved versatile.

KIU Titans will have a series of friendlies as they look forward to beating their last season’s position in the National Basketball League, starting in two months’ time.
