On behalf of the Kampala International University community – I welcome you back to the University after the end of 2019 holidays and hope you had a meaningful break. Let me register the appreciation of the Board of Trustees, the University Council, the University Senate, and the University Management, students, staff and all our stakeholders for the dedication, support, sacrifices and invaluable contributions that made 2019 a laudable and remarkable year. Thank you.

I am looking forward to well-refreshed students, academic, administrative and support staff, alumni, partners, and University friends. We assure you of an improved serene and appropriate work and study environment that is second to none. This year, the University is pushing forward on her expansion programmes among others the expansion of the Western Campus facilities, a Centre of Excellence in Entrepreneurship and Innovation, State of the Art Auditorium and expansion of the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences.

This session, the University will implement an upgraded and re-designed campus Wide Area Network (WAN) and data centre so as to improve network access and computing services to enhance teaching, learning, research and administration within the University.

The University is keen on achieving one of her strategic goals; improving access to qualitative education. This we shall achieve using a blended Open and Distance Learning model. You should look forward to the launch of this project this year.

We have also improved on the level and qualities of support available to our Students, Alumni, Parents and Guardians by strengthening the capacity of Directorate of Student Affairs to meet the yearning needs of the University community.

This year we are going to benefit immensely from many of our academic collaborators and partners that will culminate in regional and international academic and research visits by faculty and students of this great University round the globe.

It is an academic year full of fruitful outcomes. I welcome you to the campus, enjoy your stay and come as we continue to explore the heights.
