KIU, Main Campus -Over 60 secondary schools are attending a Five-day art Exhibition at Kampala International University(KIU) since Tuesday 6th June 2023.

The art exhibition running under the theme" Behind the Scenes." set to end on Saturday, 9th June 2023, has among others given a high chance to secondary school students to have a feel of their dream University.

Coordinated by KIU lecturer of art design, Kibazo Hashib, the exhibition is aimed at showing learners how work is produced in drawing, imaginative composition, ceramics, and practical pieces of artwork.

One of the top facilitators of this exhibition Eric Kisomose also a teacher at St Elizabeth High School said, "The importance of this exhibition is to show learners how work is produced in drawing, imaginative composition in ceramics and other practical aspects of art. Different learners get to know how the drawing of a human being comes up, how you draw a human face, different details of a human face among others."

"The purpose of this exhibition is to inspire the generation, to expire future artists, to tell them that there is work at KIU that can't be found elsewhere, telling them that they can do whatever they wish to do because some people have done it before," he added.

He expressed gratitude towards the University administration for providing a conducive and secure atmosphere that has seen a smooth flow of their seminar since it kicked off on Tuesday.

"We gladly want to thank the management for everything and the support they have given us. We appreciate the security, the facilitation, and the food, this would not be possible without your support. We shall be encouraging learners to join KIU because it is a good place," he said.

Schools like Buddo SS, Kings College Buddo, St Elizabeth SS, Kakungulu Memorial SS, Madinah Islamic SS, Standard High School Zana among others are in attendance. Students have praised the hospitality and atmosphere at KIU with some disclosing their desire to join us for their University education.

“This is the best library I have ever visited, am joining KIU after my form six because of this library,” Kiguli Rhona St. Noah Girls SS.
