Ramadan 2020: Muslims Advised to Spread Love and Hope During Ramadan

KIU, Main Campus – On 20th April 2020, the Mufti of Uganda, Sheikh Ramadan Mubajje urged muslims to preach love and words of compassion through prayers and virtual outreach programs during Ramadan.

While addressing the media at the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council, Mubajje said that those donating should no segregate by giving Muslims and leaving out others. He called upon whoever can give assistance to reach out to the nearest UMSC headquarters.

Mubajje also encouraged muslims to conduct Adhan in mosques as a reminder for prayer times more so in this holy month of Ramadan but keeping in mind the presidential guidelines of not performing obligational prayers as one of the measures in fighting the spread of COVID-19.

“As a muslim community, we urge you to adhere to the Ministry of Health guidelines and the presidential directives most importantly to stay at home. Pray for Uganda and the world at large for end of COVID-19,” Mubajje said.

Ramadan is the ninth month according to the Islamic lunar calendar, during which muslims fast from dawn to sunset.
