Another Master’s student successfully defends her degree

KIU Western Campus – Solange Gahongayire, a graduate of Master of Sciences in Microbiology (MSc.MB) from Kampala International University, successfully defended her Master’s degree at the Postgraduate Studies Boardroom on Wednesday, 11th, 2020, at the Western Campus.

Gahongayire’s study title was, “Prevalence and disinfectant susceptibility of bacteria isolated from salon tools in Ishaka town, Bushenyi district, Uganda”

Gahongayire becomes the seventh Master’s student to defend her degree in a week after Abdulhussein Ahmed Ahmed (Master’s of Medicine) from the Department of Internal Medicine defended his degree on 4th, March and Petrus Baruti, Rajab Babikir, Bekson Tayebwa, Happy Tukirinawe, Simon Byonanuwe (Master’s of Medicine) from the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology defended theirs on Friday 6th, March 2020.

Twelve other Master’s degree candidates from the departments of Business Management, Public Administration and Development Studies. Public Health and Education are scheduled to defend their degrees later this month.

Meanwhile, Adamu Almustapha Aliero (Microbiology), will tomorrow become the second PhD candidate to make his public defence on, “Assessment for the production of bioactive compounds from actinomycetes isolated from waste dump soil from Western Uganda”.
