KIU MAIN CAMPUS- Basoga Nseete Students Association's preparations for the forthcoming handover ceremony slated for Saturday, 27th April 2024, are in high gear. This event will follow the recently concluded elections to introduce and officiate the new cabinet, accompanied by appreciating the outgoing leaders.

According to Mr. Abdulhakim Magoola, the Chairperson of the organizing committee, the event will be held on the 6th floor of the Iddi Basajjabalaba Memorial Library, with anticipated attendees from both within and outside Kampala International University.

“We have invited various people from the Busoga community both in and outside Kampala International University. Prominent people from within our Kingdom will grace our ceremony." Said Magoola.

Of these, he pointed out Dr. Mohammed Lubega Kisambira who is going to be the Guest of honour. The latter is the Deputy prime minister of Busoga kingdom, Hon Rukia Isanga Nakadama who is the third Deputy prime minister and the current Woman member of parliament Mayuge district, and many others.

However, Magoola further clarified that this event is not limited to Basoga, but to every person. Therefore cultural groups from various universities have been invited like the renown Baganda Nkobazambogo from all universities.

"All people from different associations should be free to join us on that day because as Basoga we're a welcoming tribe. The event is not limited to Basoga only," said Magoola.

The awaited day is anticipated to have a series of scintillating activities starting at 9 am with the Red carpet, where the kisoga traditional wear will be showcased, speeches, a cultural dance presentation as well as musical performances from the best of Eastern artists.

"The best of our own will grace us with their best songs that day. Come ready to get entertained by our cultural dances and music," said Moses Gwaivu, the entertainment minister.

The event will also conclude the celebration of the victory that was registered by the association in the 2024 Cultural Gala.
