Fighting Coronavirus Together: KIU's Chairman Board of Trustees Gives UGX 100,000,000 to the National COVID-19 Task Force

KIU, Main Campus – On April 19th 2020, President Yoweri Museveni announced during his national address that Kampala International University's Chairman Board of Trustees (CBOT), Al Hajj Hassan Basajjabalaba, has donated UGX 100,000,000 to the National Task Force in response to the presidential call to support Ugandans in this challenging time.

Previously, the CBOT, oversaw the implementation of a series of measures at the KIU Teaching Hospital in Ishaka for Coronavirus preparedness. 

Among others, these measures include, establishing a rapid response unit and an isolation ward which holds patients who fit the case definition as per the Ministry of Health and WHO guidelines, COVID-19 awareness sensitization on community radio and setting up a full time Information Desk. 

In 2018, the KIU Teaching Hospital was ranked the fourth best referall hospital in the country and the best hospital in the western Uganda.
