KIU Alumni Voice: Former KIU Student Takes Over as Deputy Secretary General at PRAU

KIU, Main Campus - Former KIU student, Kezia Koburungi, has been elected the new a Deputy Secretary General of the Public Relations Association of Uganda (PRAU).  This was at the 44th Annual General Meeting at Hotel Africana over the weekend.

Koburungi, who works at Jubilee Insurance Company head office in Kampala as Customer Relations Manager, previously worked at KIU Communications Office, Ducor Sports, Punt Land Post News Agencies.

During the hybrid event, held in compliance with the COVID-19 SOPs, the association elected a new team of leaders, which includes Stephen Mwanga as President who took over from Sarah Kagingo, Tina Wamala–Vice President, Allen Ssempa-Secretary General, Kezia Koburungi–Deputy Secretary General. 

The Electoral Commission included Juma Walusimbi as the Chairman, Paul Bukenya a Member, Collins Ssemanda a Member and Stella-Marion Athieno - a member also a KIU former student who graduated from Department of Mass Communication 2017.

PRAU was founded in 1976 as a membership-based professional body of Public Relations Practitioners in Uganda. It is affiliated to regional and global bodies such as the East African Public Relations Association (EAPRA), African Public Relations Association (APRA) and International Public Relations Association (IPRA).
