KIU Researcher Dr Malik Mohamed and Other Researchers Acquire Patent on Deep Learning Model in Australia

A senior lecturer in the Department of Electrical and Telecommunications Engineering, School of Engineering Sciences (SEAS) and Innovations Manager at the Directorate of Research, Innovations, Consultancy and Extensions (RICE), Dr Umar Malik Mohamed, and other scientists from India and the United States have successfully acquired a patent on Continuous Labelling Assessment Of Products To Improve Efficiency Of Reverse Logistics By Deep Learning Model. 

This was made known by the Intellectual Property (IP) Australia, the Australian Government agency that administers intellectual property (IP) rights and legislation relating to patents, trademarks, designs, and plant breeder's rights.

The patent with application number 2020101729 was accepted on the 8th of August 2020. The other co-applicants include Babuprasad, Shweta MS, (Research Scholar at Dayananda Sagar Academy of Technology and Management); Banerjee, Ishita MS (Researcher Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering India); Dr. Devasenapathy, Deepa, Associate Professor from Florida USA; M R, Suma (Assistant Professor at Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering India); Dr. P, Madhumathy (Professor at Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering India);

Others include Dr R, Umamaheswari, (Assistant Professor, SRM Valliammai Engineering College, India); Ramashini, Murugaiya MR, (lecturer Uva Wellassa University, Sri Lanka); S, Bharath Kumar MR, Executive Engineer from India; and Y, Ambika Naik MS, (Assistant Professor Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering India).
